So under any circumstances one shouldnot lose heart and should implement the following tips.
Being a fresher means you have just got a cool degree that'll get you a cool job sooner or later. Don't see fresher tag as a burden.
- First look within and find out what sort of job you are looking for. If you are confused about choices, ask your mentors, professors, seniors or post in forums eg-indiacareerblog.People will be always willing to help.
- Do a search in portals, and make a list of employers that have openings matching your interest. Save these jobs so that you can easily refer to them later.
- Make a list of friends, batchmates, seniors etc. who are working in these companies. Request them to refer you to those companies. Seek their help to review and strengthen your resume prior to forwarding it. Employers always prefer candidates who come through referrals. At least, a referral will help you in getting an interview call. Rest is of course, how you handle it. If you don't find any contact, you can write directly to HR however you must include a strong cover letter to catch their attention. See sample resumes and covering letters for help.
- You can also visit company facility to drop your resume in case it's close to where you live.
- Prepare well for the interview.. Always make it a point to visit the company website before facing the interview. Be very specific as to why you like the company and how you will fit in the company. Also, you must prepare for every skill listed in your resume. If you don't know something well enough, don't list it. You can visit interview related communities like Java Interview Questions to learn about frequently asked interview questions. Fresher Mantras is also a good place to master HR related questions and other interview tips.
Many companies out there are looking for your talent. Just sell it well.
